Welcome to the Seapoint Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine
Jan Keating is a qualified naturopath and herbalist and a registered member of the Irish Naturopaths Association and the Irish Register of Herbalists. Jan has had a lifelong interest in natural medicine, first sparked when her father, a veterinary surgeon, began to integrate natural medicines into his conventional practice, with great results. She has been reading about medicine, nutrition and natural health for over 20 years and following 14 years working in international business, primarily in the healthcare sector (diagnostics, orthopaedics, women's healthcare), she finally followed her passion and studied Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine from 2005 to 2010 at the London-based College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Jan sees each client as a unique individual. Combining scientific knowledge and research with an assessment of their condition, medical history and current lifestyle, she designs a comprehensive program for them, including dietary and lifestyle advice and where necessary, safe and effective medicines.
Jan has a particular interest in preventative healthcare and is committed to empowering people to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing by involving them in their treatment programs and providing them with the tools and knowledge to make the right choices in their everyday lives. Enabling effective, educated self-care decisions can help to prevent a recurrence of the condition or future health problems.
Jan regularly attends seminars and conferences in Ireland, the UK, Germany and the United States to ensure that she keeps up to date with the latest research and findings.
